Re garden cushions: I have the nice square proper garden cushions too, and no where to store them anyway. We do get lots of rain here in Toronto Canada so I stand them upright and if it rains they do dry off very very quickly. It's hot here in the Summer and we do get thunder showers. For Winter I put them in a big patio box, because squirrels and mice in the past like to chew them when the snow arrives and there is no other food around. Hope this helps.

Oh my goodness, Laura, you buy plants like I do. I can't walk past those poor looking plants, that need a good home, without bringing home two or three of them. And they reward you for it!

We have had a never ending problem with string algae in our water feature with our koi pond. The best thing we used is a product called Algea Fix, which is safe for fish. We also have high Ph and our local pond place told us the Ph can encourage algae growth. Sadly, a blue heron showed up one evening and by the next morning, every single koi was gone. I live in the Willamette Valley, and we have herons, but never before at our house. I hope you don't have them in your area! We won't be getting more fish because I'm sure that heron will come back.

I had a smaller pond in my backyard. We had the water being pumped through a biobox which was full of stones, a layer of large, another layer of medium and the last one was fine gravel planted with water plants. The water was filtered through and the plants took up the nutrients in the water. This cleared our algae problem as it's the nutrients that encourage the algae. Water iris are great growers and just eat up the nutrients as well. You may also try some submerged plants to control it. The fish love eating these too.

Freeze dried berries are the best for baking, especially strawberries and raspberries!! They also go so well in frosting recipes, as in - they don’t change the consistency of the frosting because of the lack of all that moisture in the freeze dried ones when compared to fresh or frozen berries.

Hi Laura I'm in Portland. My peppers are so small and stunted too. They are already blooming but less than a foot tall 😢 And you're hilarious, talking about how you love to plant all willy nilly and then you have a ton of hedging and formal/semi-final planned gardens. Cracks me up. 😂
